The four-part test

Test What it means Fails look like
No money Nothing is owed, including postage and “handling”. A $3.95 charge that appears at the last screen.
No card The form never asks for card details, even to verify. A card field labelled as a formality.
No enrolment Requesting once does not start anything recurring. A pre-ticked box that starts a monthly box.
Actually arrives One of us requested it and received it. Nothing after ten weeks and two follow-ups.

Then it gets re-walked

A listing is not permanent. Every section is walked on a rota — the two busiest weekly, the rest fortnightly — and each live listing is opened to the last screen before submitting. That is where the changes show up: a fee added quietly, a required account, a form that now returns an error.

Statuses

  • Live — passed the test, passed the last walk.
  • Limited — real, but stock runs out fast or the offer restocks on a schedule. Read the note.
  • Regional — real, but only claimable in person or in a named area.

We do not take payment from brands, and there is no submission form for brands either. Every listing here was found by someone walking a brand’s own site. That is slow and it is why the shelf is small.

What we do with your details

Nothing, because we never have them. The Sample Shelf has no forms, no accounts and no newsletter. You claim samples directly from the brand; we only write down where the form is and what it asks for.
